These materials will allow students a chance to learn about themselves and others in text. Students will be able to examine whose voice is represented in text in their classroom and whose is not. This will help students begin to examine power and perspective through study, class discussion, and debate.
We will use literature and realistic characters as a third point for kids to sift through some tough conversations that will lead our learners to social action in our school and community as we work toward equity in all our spaces.
