Everyday my 4th grade class participates in CBAD (classroom book a day). This is my students favorite part of the day. They love to gather at the carpet and be read to, even at the fourth grade level.
I get the most bang for my buck when I incorporate STEAM activities with the days storybook. My students love to work with their hands, which helps to further cement learning.
I think its very important to read books with diverse characters to my students. With items such as pipe cleaners, coffee filters, and glass jars, we will be making water filtrations systems, bracelets out of plastic bags and a solar powered oven!
