By giving my students these materials, you will be encouraging them to use their senses. Sensory activities facilitate exploration and naturally encourage children to use scientific processes while they play, create, investigate and explore.
Sensory play also encourages children to use sight, sound, smell, taste, and touch to solve problems. Children are also building skills in language development, cognitive growth, motor skills, problem solving and social interactions. Children are able to compete more complex learning tasks when they are engaged in different types of sensory play.
Sensory play builds nerve connections within the developing brain. Let's keep developing the brains of these children while giving them skills they will be able to use for the rest of their life.
