My goal is to provide my students with materials that create a language rich atmosphere that will positively impact their communication abilities, while also having fun! By donating to this project, it will help my students have access to materials that will motivate them to improve their communication skills, build confidence, advance academically, and connect with peers and adults effectively. Children with speech disorders, often have impacted phonemic awareness. By targeting phonemic awareness, we see benefits in a child’s speech production; as well as, reading and spelling. Students will practice turn-taking skills, speech sounds, and language structures while using the Pizza Topple Game, Gumball Grab and Squeeze, Scoop and Count Ice Cream Shop. As a bonus, these resources also target fine motor skills! These resources will allow me to keep my therapy fresh and keep my students excited to continue to learn and grow. The Carry Around Animal Town will be used to target verbs, prepositions, adjectives, wh questions and much more! The Building Language Lotto and Vocabulary File Folders will help my students work on understanding relationships between words, prepositional phrases, time and number concepts.
