My students have disabilities that hinder their ability to communicate with others and express their wants and needs. By bringing these iPads into our Special Education classroom, the students will have access to apps and programs that they can use to make their wants and needs known! These programs, such as LAMP, Proloquo2Go, and TouchChat, help facilitate Augmentative and alternative communication. This new technology will allow my students the opportunity to express their needs and wants, and more fully participate in decisions that affect their lives. Through the competency-based learning that will happen in my classroom as a result of this resource, my students will be able to communicate in a more functional way, which will improve the overall quality of their lives.
