Students need the opportunity to read both fiction and nonfiction texts. These new texts in the classroom will help me as a teacher facilitate comprehension skills with my students. The Time for Kids will be used to help teach text features, context clues, making inferences, summarizing, and identifying main ideas. Novels will be used to work on helping students with fluency, genre, and point of view in a text. These books will be added to my classroom library to provide students with a new variety of texts to read. All texts are going to be used to help get students excited about reading!
