First graders have a hard time sitting still. It's just a part of who they are. They need the ability to move and sit in different ways and in different environments around the classroom. This is where flexible seating will come into play in my classroom. With flexible seating options provided from this grant, I will be able to provide opportunities for my students to read in a corner or sit on the floor and use the cushions as a desk or pick up and use these chairs at their desks. All of these things will help keep my classroom environment friendly and welcoming for all my little learners.
