I am seeking to expand my students’ horizons through hands-on experience with the technology so that they gain a first hand understanding working with innovations that exist in Music Technology. Through they the lessons that I will provide, the students will be able to do things like record acoustic instruments as well as learn how electronic music can be produced or recorded. The aim of this class will be to explore the variety of purposes in which music can be used today: live performance, recorded performance, as a soundtrack to videos footage, along with other inventive avenues. The goal of the lesson is to discover how technology is used in the production of music. The objectives of the lesson are:
*Discover how technology fits invisibly into the recording and production of non-electronic and electronic music.
*To utilize music as a form of communication, self-expression, and creativity.
*To enjoyably develop a sense of the disciplined process and to reap the rewards of learning about music.
*To express thoughts, ideas and emotions through a musical means.
*Explain how technology aids in live music performance: the synthesizer & other MIDI controllers.
*Practice proper management, care and operation of music technology devices and peripheral equipment.
