These materials will make a difference in math and science by providing my students with the tactile tools they can use through play to do problem solving and creative design. Students will be driven by their curiosity to challenge their own thinking as well as learn critically from others.
Students can build on their understanding through models, blocks, planks, circuits, magnets, and gears to display their understanding of engineering. This will empower my students to expand their thinking in many of the applied sciences. Also, they will be challenged to do multi-step problem solving and higher mathematical thinking. Through these manipulatives and lab experiences, my students will learn about levitation, constructing bridges, electronics, and chain reactions.
