Sleep is especially important for children as it directly impacts mental and physical development. Children 3-5-years-old need an average of 11 to 14 hours of sleep. This includes a 1-2-hour nap.
Some of my students are not able to get a full night’s sleep or have a bed to call their own. Having a cot in our classroom labeled as their own each day gives them a sense of security and comfort.
Adding a clean sheet with a cozy blanket allows for a peaceful nap and renewed energy to be recharged to continue to explore and learn. Today`s hectic lifestyles can hinder a child`s rest time. Please help fund this project so our kids can have a place to rest in our classroom.
