Reading helps children go to a place that they have never been before.. why not bring them into different cultures?! Adding multicultural books into my classroom library will enhance my classroom community, engage my multicultural students, encourage students to learn about other cultures, and above all, educate my students and myself on different cultures. My students that are from different parts of the world can feel that part of their culture is now represented within OUR classroom library. I love that I was given such a diverse classroom. It is such a gift to be exposed to others of different cultures and I am so excited to share these new books with my second grade learners!
