With our classroom having various abilities, it is tough for us to partake in activities where all learners feel confident. With this generation being so tech savvy, coding is something that all learners can be successful. Our class also has 2 different Osmo programs that were donated a few years ago, however we do not have technology to support the program. I believe if we can access various tech programs, it will increase the level or excitement for learning in our classroom. When being involved in coding activities, students are being exposed to positional words which is part of Kindergarten curriculum. The Osmo programs that were donated have various coding programs also various basic skills programs, such as letter identification, rhyming words, creating pictures out of shapes, etc... What I have noticed over that last 2 years of new Kindergartners is that the children are able to manipulate technical devices better than retaining some skills. I hope that introducing them to coding programs will give them a way of making a connection with skills and technology.
