Writing is a major part of my kindergarten classroom. It takes lots of hard work and daily practice. Emphasis is given on developing neat and properly formed letters. Using magnet letters, pencil grips and dry erase boards give students the tools to effectively progress in their writing ability. Once this is achieved, simple dictation sentence writing is practiced. From there students start free writing on given topics.
Words come alive as students tap into their own unique style. Their work is kept in a binder so parents and students can look back over their amazing experience. By the end of the year, a priceless skill is mastered that will help them succeed in life all through the power of words.
