Do you know any six or seven year old that sits still? I certainly do not! By providing flexible seating in my classroom, I am showing that I acknowledge and care about each student’s unique learning needs. Allowing students the opportunity to wiggle, lay, stand, etc. while they are working will foster ownership of the classroom and learning in the students.
Allowing student choice of flexible seating options will create a safe and comfortable learning environment for each student.
