Every student in today's day and age love technology. As a person who recently graduated from college, I too love technology and have witnessed single-handedly what it can do to help motivate a person. Technology has come a long way and has integrated itself into mostly every classroom. The only problem with technology is that it is really expensive. Hence why I am doing this project.
As a first-year teacher, I have my sight set on being able to give kids that look like me, an excellent experience in PE by being able to involve technology in my gym. The devices that I want, only ten for right now because they are super expensive, but I will want to show my principal the effects it has on the students, but also the effects it has on my assessment criteria. I believe these devices will help me evaluate participation levels to a higher extent, by providing concrete evidence of the student's physical activity levels.
I believe that if I am able to acquire this and expose my students to technology and how it can impact your life and well-being. I think students will be more mindful of the type of innovations there are in this world and how we can use these devices for more than just accessories. For instance, an Apple Watch or a FitBit, which can tell you the time and do other fun stuff, but the most important feature is that it can tell someone their activity levels and also push you to set goals for yourself to achieve. I want my students to see themselves being able to do that outside of my gym and spreading it to their families. Our well being is something we need to value more than a lot of other things.
