This project brings multiple hands-on learning tools. Merge Cubes, which are augmented reality devices that allow them to view and interact with 3D objects in our classroom. They can also learn to write their own codes that work with the Merge Cubes. The Snap Circuits make learning about circuitry and electricity possible for even our youngest students. My students will be able to create circuits with working light, sound, moving parts, and more. The clipboards will help us make our flexible seating options more effective. Students have a lot of freedom and choice in where they work in my classroom, and clipboards will make recording our plans and ideas much easier!
Students become completely engaged when learning is hands-on. With this project, students will be able to code their own programs, do research that is visual, see circuitry in action, and utilize flexible seating more effectively.
As an added benefit, I am helping my school build a mini "lending library" of hands-on learning tools. Teachers are able to sign out materials to use inside the classroom to help strengthen the core curriculum. Both the Merge Cubes and the Snap Circuits are things that will be shared with other teachers, so we can collaborate on projects and make sure all students have access to hands-on learning opportunities.
