The addition of just 3 iPads in our classroom will greatly enhance learning with my students. In this day and age, technology is essential to staying on top of the learning curve. Currently, we have 2 working desktop computers for a class of 20 students. The computer is always the first choice for my students for center time. Unfortunately, not all students are able to access the computers each week because we only have two.
The implementation of the use of iPads would allow my students' learning to soar. It would give my students the independence and confidence that they need to improve their academic success. With the donation of the iPads, I would be able to not only allow more students access to daily technology, but I would be able to allow their creativity to flow through the use of various apps that incorporate literacy and math skills. For reading, the students would be able to listen to a book read by me in my voice. They would be able to scan a QR code, listen to questions about the story, and share their response with a friend. In math, the students would be able to explore engineering techniques through digital constructions of gingerbread houses. Technology always piques their interest. The daily exposure via the iPads can bring them so much further.
