Prior to the pandemic, my students’ days were centered around independent living skills and work readiness lessons. These included hands on activities such as meal planning, grocery shopping, cooking, organizing, cleaning, and financial literacy. These materials will help my special needs students continue to learn about money management, budgeting, savings, and work readiness skills. The workbooks will also help me to continue to address their much needed independent living skills.
During this pandemic, I discovered that not all my students have access to functional internet based devices which caused me to think of other ways to effectively reach them. I currently call them on the phone or if they have DUO I attempt to do a lesson that way. It's actually been a struggle for them.
