My students live in a small town full of pride and rich in history. Many of my students come from low socioeconomic circumstances, so resources at home are scarce. However, these students are bright, inquisitive, and get excited when introduced to new ideas, cultures, and they thrive with hands-on learning.
I plan to use the Time For Kids magazine subscription to broaden their academic horizons. Our school does not have a formal social studies curriculum. The magazine subscription has online resources for teachers to plan lessons. The manipulatives will help my hands-on learners learn and understand abstract ideas like math.
