In my English classroom, we will soon be moving into literature circles allowing the students to read together in small learning communities instead of as a class. This means that they can move around the room, change seating arrangements, and/ or read independently if the need arises (someone may need to catch up) rather than be confined to just a desk and chair.
These materials will soften the classroom and allow me to provide multiple methods of differentiation. Whiteboards and markers allow for quick review of materials or easy exit tickets. This method is great as it allows me to see where my students are after a lesson or before the next quiz/test. Glue sticks, pens, and colored pencils will enhance the supplies already in the classroom to assist with a project completion.
