These materials will make a difference in my students' learning because they need to be able to sit comfortably in their own space. In doing this, the number of distractions will cut down. This will also help with the amount of talking going on during this mandated 30 minutes of reading.
My students really do love to read, but being cramped in their seats does not help. I asked my students why they would like more comfortable reading spot and these are some responses: "It helps me stay focused," "I would be more comfortable so I won't be as distracted," and "So I won't have to sit by anyone and I can focus."
