Growing up in a time where Earth, our very home is under such duress, any measures we can take to heal our home should be taken. These materials allow a first-grade class to care for the Earth, heal their hearts, and develop their young minds.
My students recycle in the classroom but they are hungry, metaphorically and literally, to create more change. My first graders are earth-conscious and crave to do more. This worm composter and garden beds allow us to actively engage our students in earth science by involving them in the process of growing food, and creating sustainability in our classroom. My students so desperately want to grow their own snacks, they desire to take pride in their efforts.
Our school does not have the money or programs in place to offer this experience to our class. Your donation would benefit students that attend a Title I school. These materials would benefit not just this year's first-grade class, but the new generations to come.
