Help me give my students more books so they can fall in love with reading.
I love how excited my students are when they read. They have inquisitive minds and are always asking questions and wanting to learn more. My students demonstrate kindness to one another and support each other. Most importantly, my students love to go above and beyond, and they love to read about people doing good deeds in our world. Furthermore, when my students read a fictional or non-fictional story, they connect the content of the story to a Sustainable Development Goal and share their knowledge in the classroom. My students are in a low-income bracket and we are Title I campus. They are also are dominantly bilingual, and live in a low socio-economic area. Some of these students have no books at home, so I provide books to be taken home to read.
Since I try to provide books for my students, my library has really taken a toll, and I need to replace and update our classroom library. We have independent reading time and they enjoy reading to one another. If given this opportunity, each student will be able to pick the appropriate grade level books for themselves and enjoy reading them around the room.
Help me develop the minds of students that will always love reading and help them grow into people that will make an impact in this world with the knowledge they gain from reading.
My objective is to instill a love for reading and then have them become lifelong readers and leaders of our society. I would love these updated books to keep their attention and have them fully enjoy reading.
