I teach in a high needs urban middle school classroom in downtown Indianapolis. My students all qualify for free breakfast and lunch. Many of these students rely on school meals as their only consistent meals of the day. My school has a large Hispanic population with about a fifth of the students being English Language Learners.
The students at Northwest are faced with immense challenges inside and outside the classroom, but they continue to persevere through anything that comes their way.
