The materials I chose will allow students to explore new concepts through inquiry-based, hands-on experiments. Various experiments will be conducted by students to build an understanding of the world around them.
New concepts will be retained and intrinsic motivation will soar as students measure, mix, and analyze their surroundings.
Experiments such as, building movable hands will help students understand how the brain sends messages to the body. Force and motion will be represented by building roller coaster simulations. Volcanoes will be created. Fossils will be inspected. Plant and Animal life cycles will be replicated. The world will come to life for the students.
Students will learn how to think critically, problem solve, and manage social and emotional conflicts during their explorations. These are essential skills for students to be college and career ready upon graduation.
