The Holocaust is a compelling topic about the loss of human rights, which students of all ages need to be made aware of. Students need to understand why this event occurred and what major impacts came directly from it. Even though I teach Language Arts, students will learn about this side of history through the lens of literature in order to better understand the topic of survival. By providing my students with various novels to choose from as we cover the Holocaust in literature circles, they will have the opportunity to choose a title that interets them. These novel options will enrich my students' understanding of this horrific event from the viewpoint of various characters.
