Each of my students uses a digital learning tool for both reading and math that creates differentiated lessons just for them. It provides a personalized learning experience that helps fill gaps in knowledge as well as challenge students who are ready to move faster. We are so lucky to have access to laptops in the classroom. However, in order to access this program fully, they need to be able to hear the computer!
Most of my students come from low-income families who struggle to make ends meet. We ask students to provide their own headphones, but many either can't or have cheap earbuds that quickly break. A class filled with 8 and 9 year olds is chaotic enough without 20 computers talking at once!
Having a class set of durable headphones would make our room quieter, calmer, and easier for everyone to focus on their learning. It also would mean that my students will be able to actually hear their lessons, allowing them to fully take advantage of this program!
