I teach in an urban public middle school as the math and science half of a two-person 6th-grade teaching team.
Many of my students come from different regions of the world, and others have been in classes together since early elementary; they all bring energy, creativity, and curiosity to the classroom, supporting and challenging each other every day.
The 6th graders in my classroom embrace a variety of STEM tasks and challenges; integrating humanities, arts, math, and science to address complex situations.
As students in the 21st century, they need to be prepared to use a variety of tools to address the issues of their time.
