The Stark County Sheriff’s Office counts the number of jail cell beds they will need in the future based on the number of students who do not pass the Third Grade Reading Guarantee.
If students can read fluently by first grade, they are most likely to succeed in school, and in turn become productive citizens which will help promote the city in a positive way, breaking the cycle of poverty and reducing crime. My goal is to add new books to our library so they will have a variety of books that interest them. They will be given time to read them daily. They will also be able to check them out and take them home.
