These books will help me to explore a variety of social emotional learning themes with my students in a fun and relatable way! My students love to hear stories and by connecting books to our weekly social emotional learning theme, I will be making these come to life more easily! These books will not only help to reinforce our SEL themes, but they will help to reinforce our literacy instruction. Our students love to hear stories and these books will help to give them more examples to see a diverse range of children who look and behave just like them. These books will help to make the social emotional themes, such as kindness, empathy towards others and diversity, much more concrete due to being able to hear and see examples in these books. I will use the books as read alouds, but also allow classrooms to check out books so that the kids have an opportunity to use the books themselves!
