I would like the children to start their school day with morning "Wake Up" tubs. These new tubs would energize the children and get them ready to start their days in a positive way. My research has shown that children that have more access to materials that they can manipulate and are given more opportunities to create will perform better in school. The tubs would contain varied STEM-based and artistic materials. The "Wake Up" tubs would be given to the children each morning before announcements. Each tube will have an activity for a group of children to work on. All the activities will involve imagination, construction, and creativity. During this time, the children will work together to construct, draw, and talk to each other about the activity they are working on.
