Students will create a new vision for the communities they live in. After deciding what is missing currently and what current issues in their communities are dearest to their heart, they will then take the role of urban planners and reimagine their neighborhoods.
After creating a two dimensional map of their reimagined neighborhood, they will use the clay to create a 3 dimensional model of one portion of their neighbor (built to scale) which showcases to them what is one of the ways in which they will use their power as an urban planner to help solve a problem their community currently faces.
