Giving my students the opportunity to move around the room and collaborate with their peers in a more comfortable way helps them engage in the lesson! They are more focused on the material they are learning when they are comfortable and able to work together with more freedom. When my students are able to be comfortable while they are learning, they absorb more information because they are less concerned with being uncomfortable and stuck in a desk, and more on the material. Flexible seating also gives my students the opportunity to move freely around the room and sit in places and in groupings that they cannot do with regular seating.
