In the technology, and more specifically, the smart phone era, it is rare to see students enjoying a book at leisure. Too often they brag about never reading assigned books, but this is a harder feat when students have written off reading as being enjoyable to begin. I want to remind students that there is a world beyond social media and Netflix.
I'm requesting a Grade 8 Classic Grade Level Library for my classroom library. Having high interest books accessible to my students in my room is a crucial first step. I hope to foster in students a love for learning by starting with a good book, and you can help me achieve this goal!
