With this carpet I will be able to teach interactive lessons. I can have my students stand, point, sit on a particular letter or number on the carpet as an activity enhancing letter recognition or letter sounds. Students can walk around the carpet and sing or say the alphabet as the step on each letter. This carpet also has numbers 1 to 20, students can count as they walk on the numbers. I would also have letter cards and number cards that the students can match to the letter or number on the carpet, like a large matching game board. Another activity I would do is, students can put items in a particular letter, items that have the same beginning sound as the letter, for example a toy apple, ant and alligator would be placed on the letter "A" on the carpet because they have the same beginning sound. Many academic activities can be done with this carpet, students would benefit greatly!
