These materials will greatly improve my reading and math time as students will have a chance to engage in more hands-on activities. The goal is to create a more student centered classroom where students feel motivated to explore and learn independently. The reading materials include high interest independent practice at a variety of levels and fluency practice that will help my struggling readers. The math activities are for independent work time and include games and puzzles that review our third grade math standards. These activities will also help solidify understanding of earlier standards that students may continue to struggle with.
I believe that a new and fun approach to learning will engage my students and help them become successful independent learners. I selected these materials not only because they match our third grade standards but because they are also at a variety of levels. I want all of my students to feel successful and work independently regardless of their current level. I would be absolutely thrilled to add these learning materials to our classroom.
