My school is unable to provide a classroom set of headphones for my 27 fifth graders. I had sent a note home to parents earlier in the year requesting for students to bring in a pair of headphones if they could afford it. Unfortunately, only a few families were able to provide headphones. Headphones can be used on any iPad, PC or Chromebook while testing. These headphones would be used daily. The need is specifically for headphones and not ear buds (Cheaper earbuds are not able to handle the wear and tear of young stgudents).
Students, by having their own set of headphones, will learn about responsibility as they will be in charge of keeping their headphones in tip-top shape.
Students who have their own headphones and do not share them with their classmates help to prevent lice!
In fifth grade we use an I-Ready Math and Reading program. Students need to listen to instruction on a PC, iPad or Chromebook for 90 minutes each week. I am putting together this project so that students can have their own personal headphones that will be kept in the classroom to use during online lessons throughout the year. These headphones will be used during math, reading and Mystery Science videos, too. Students will benefit from this Ðǿմ«Ã½.org project as they increase their school skills and life skills.
