The books that we purchase will be read together as a class teaching students to comprehend and process what they are reading. I have the students for approximately 30 minutes per day. We will break up the time by reading passages approximately 20 minutes in length and then discussing what we read.
Reading and discussing short passages as a group will ensure that all students understand what they read, are able to ask questions, can keep up, and most importantly, get a sense of fun and enthusiasm towards reading.
Not only will the books be used this year, but I will also be able to use them for years to come hopefully hooking more and more readers each year.
