We live in a climate that causes us to be indoors quite a bit during the winter months. I want to enhance my indoor recess time to include activities that keep my students engaged while still allowing for freedom and playtime. I will make small activity bins out of the larger building sets. The students will have choice of which set they want to work with during free time. As small teams they can engineer new plans, as well as work on projects around constraints I will give them. They love STEM activities. They learn teamwork by working together to come up with ideas to build. My students learn team work and engineering through play activities.
