Yoga for Dayzzz is more than a project, it is a chance for over 700 elementary students grades K-5 to explore yoga, mindfulness, fitness, relaxation, and breath-work (hence the 鈥渮zz鈥) in Revere, Massachusetts. Our Elementary is a Title One school with limited resources. The social and emotional learning program is just underway in Revere, and we are hoping that the supplies listed here can be used for students to experience yoga enrichment. The school has dedicated an entire classroom for the SEL/PE program which allows students to move around, stretch, and practice mindfulness, meditation and yoga.
We have enough mats and space for a typical class size of 15-20 students. Kids deserve a place where they can safely learn about stretching, the importance of movement, and useful tactics to de-stress throughout their hectic days. Through guided yoga practices and the ability to use equipment like yoga blocks and stability balls, the students will certainly be able to take their emotional growth to much higher levels.
