My students have very little access to technology - and no access to things like podcasts. Most do not know what podcasts are, but I thought a fun way to cover our speaking and listening standards would be to do this project.
In an area where they don't have a lot of choice or access, this gives them a lot of say in the topic that they'll cover. They can do a narrative, argumentative, or informative podcasts (based on our writing standards), but instead of writing the essay, they'll create the podcast and conduct interviews for the "text evidence" portion.
