With the new "Read by Grade Three Law," I want our students to be able to read at or above grade level when they reach third grade. To do this I need to expose our preschool students to all of the early literacy skills they will need to help them learn to read. I will be using the requested materials throughout the day, (small groups, large groups, transitions, and during free play) every day. The literacy materials will help my students to learn to recognize upper and lowercase letters. The materials will help my students learn the sounds the letters make. The materials will, also, help encourage my students to learn rhyming. With your support, I can help my students learn the early literacy skills they need to succeed in school and pass the new third-grade reading law.
