My school doesn't have funding to venture away from traditional sports like soccer, football, basketball, etc. and I want the opportunity to start teaching non-traditional sports like table tennis, yoga, spike-ball, etc.
Table tennis is an activity that students can participate in for the rest of their lives. This is something that I try to emphasize in my class, lifelong fitness. Students will learn the history, strategies, serves and be able to participate in this activity outside of class with confidence.
I have 44 students per class 5 periods a day. I am focusing on purchasing equipment for one activity at a time. Purchasing this equipment will allow each student the opportunity to participate in the activity without having a lot of sit out time.
