Support Mrs. Lopez-Williams' classroom with a gift that fosters learning.
By having Legos in my classroom, my students will be able to work with peers and in groups to create and build things. They will be able to learn social skills like sharing, taking turn and expressing their needs and wants clearly to others.
For example, I have some students who struggle expressing their feelings appropriately when they get frustrated. While students are creating and building, students will be communicating with each other and classroom teacher to learn ways to solve problems. Students will learn ways to better deal with anger. Students will learn how to share and ask others in a respectful way. Students will learn how to be good friends and help each other.
Learning how to communicate clearly their needs and wants, will help students in other academic areas. For example, when reading, students will be able to work collaboratively with a partner to share ideas, answer comprehension questions and solve problems together.
