The Sanctuary at 305 is a space being designed for my Therapeutic Emotional Support classroom to utilize. For over a year I lacked the vision to transform this room into some thing magical for my students. Then, this fall I was conversing with our classroom therapist' s supervisor and she described this beautiful room she observed in a nearby suburban district. I thought to self, "Why can't our students experience some thing so tranquil and serene?" And so, my vision began to take shape...
The space currently features a sensory wall composed of mermaid fabric, plush carpets and chairs, ambient lighting, inspirational quotes surrounded by student art work, and cozy pillows. Upon completion it will boast a mural created by students, a kitchen cart which will allow us to expand our smoothie and hot beverage business, Himalayan salt lamps, and "cloud" lighting made by the class. I am sincerely hopeful it will also include calming bubble tubes for students to enjoy!
The bubble tube will provide another beautiful sensory experience for students to enjoy in The Sanctuary at 305!
