The project above is the basic necessities needed for the rest of the school year, such as pencils, glue, and folders. These supplies will allow students to have the tools needed to perform in the classroom without the extra burden on low socioeconomic families.
Many activities have students in cooperative learning style groups working on projects.
The supplies will allow zero second thoughts on "I don't have", and focus on what needs to be completed. Often supplies from the start of the year run low by the end of January. Many of these projects that will be using these supplies rely on students' building background knowledge followed by compare and contrasting.
