These materials will allow our students to spend less time looking and more time reading! Using bins to categorize books will streamline checkout time and will give readers a feeling of independence.
As a librarian, I want my students to read all the books that interest them. Sorting books into categories that are clearly marked gives each reader the opportunity to learn independence and self-direction, and initiate their own curiosity for reading. This will build the foundation for conducting research when they get older and provides time to learn 21st century skills.
