Our school district and community along with many others around the country is a poor community and does not have the funds to purchase much needed items to continue our children education and carry it to the next level which is needed so badly.
I am an avid supporter and work very hard to help all my student become fluent readers, But most importantly love reading. The chair storage sack will help with having the children put their books in a spot that they have access to at anytime. Right now they are in book bins on a shelf. The kidney shaped table with allow me to see all the kids in my reading groups and make sure they are learning the reading strategies and applying them. It also allows me to keep them more focused on the task at hand. I am in real need of ipads! Right now I have three and I have to share them often with other classes. We use these as a station for reading skills. Also we don't have a lot of reading books as we can't afford them so we have a computer program that allows us to download books so children can read them on the ipad. The problem with this is their are not enough for children to read individually. We also use a program called iready for stations. It is a very good reading program that aides children with a variety of needs. Again the children have to use iready individually. I put a cart of 10 ipads as my ultimate dream! I also put a set of three ipads that would help me tremendously as well. Anything that I receive will be beneficial to my classroom and it will be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
