I want to give my students options and create a more flexible learning environment! Sitting in a hard plastic chair all day while simultaneously being forced to focus and learn isn't impossible. I mean, we did it, but what if children work better standing up, laying down on the floor with a clipboard, sitting crisscross with a lap desk, or sitting on a soft cushioned stool? What if they need to move, and sitting on a bouncing ball works better for them? Given my time spent with my students, I think having such materials would be beneficial and yield more learning and effective collaboration.
