In the past year, my students have expressed their passion for art forms that tell a story. Whether it be anime or comic books, movies or books, the message is clear: compelling characters and intriguing stories can have a huge impact in my students' lives. Over 100 students in my middle school art classes have been creating characters and building stories to share in their graphic novel project.
The materials in this project will give me the supplies needed to provide my students with a chance to tell their own story through a creative lens and promote literacy at the middle school level.
The supplies for this project will help students not only enhance their understanding of the work that goes into creating a graphic novel, but also provide my students with the opportunity to show their classmates, families, and school community how creative they are.
